Club volleyball is highly competitive, we encourage players to begin at the clinic-level and then try out for our club teams. Players selected on tryout days will be assigned to teams, and players who are not yet qualified are encouraged to join our clinics to prepare for the following year

We are one of the most affordable girls volleyball clubs in Irvine. Our club fees vary according to the team. Younger teams start at $3,300/per player, and our top-ranked travel teams are priced at $5,200. We offer sibling discounts, please email info@aaasportsclub.com for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How many practices per week and how long?
Our u12-14 1’s teams (highest ranked) & all u15, & u16 teams practice three times per-week. Our 2’s-4’s teams practice twice per week. Practices are 1.5 hours each.
- How old does my child have to be to play volleyball?
Our youngest club-division is u11 (11 and under). We do accept players starting at age 8 for clinic-level training at our parent company’s website aaasportsclub.com
- When is the registration period?
Enroll for club tryouts up to 3 months in advance, and summer camps + fall pre-club clinics are offered months ahead of time while spots are available.
- What is included in the registration fee?
All summer campers and pre-club players receive a team shirt, and selected club players receive more team equipment as part of the membership.
- How does Athena volleyball compare to other local clubs?
Athena has an overall winning record versus most nearby clubs. Our teams have won four division championships, multiple special events in Northern California and placed high in the summer soiree (including 3rd place overall in 2025 [u14 division])
- What paperwork do I need to register my child to play volleyball?
Club players have online paperwork with USA volleyball and the SCVA through the Sportsengine app. We will walk you through the process after tryouts.
